Experimental digital education formats were discussed at SPIEF
On June 2, on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, a panel session was held on the topic: “Education of the Future: How to Benefit from the Introduction of New Formats?”, organized by "Business Priority". The event was moderated by President of Freedom International Group investment company, founder of Cyber Legacy Narek Sirakanyan and CEO of Business Priority, innovation platform of the Roscongress Foundation, Marianna Skragan.
At the panel session the following topics were discussed:
- Education as productive environment for innovation
- Digitalization of education - a threat or an opportunity?
- Ways and methods of organic involvement of young people in the educational process
- Risks and new opportunities for the introduction of new formats and educational products into practice.
In his special report, Narek Sirakanyan spoke about the prospects for using eSports technologies in the modern educational process, including as a discipline that forms digital competencies for the professions of the future.
“Cybersport has already become a part of our daily life. This is an element of the industry of achievement and entertainment, which already has its own idols, superstars, heroes and which will grow as our children grow up. It is also a sphere of fundamentally new opportunities for socialization. For instance, computer sports provide opoortunity to make friends with people from completely different parts of the planet, to unite ordinary children and children with disabilities on one playground, providing the latter with social rehabilitation, adaptation and personal development. I believe that with the support of the state and the business, we should increasingly use all the new opportunities that open up in the modern educational process, starting from school”, - said the founder of Cyber Legacy.
The main event of the panel session was announcement of results of "TOP 10 innovation companies in educational" competition, organized by Business Priority together with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. Within its framework, a presentation of Russian educational platforms and services with the potential for international scaling up took place.
Among the projects recognized as promising following the results of the selection process are nano-studios for the education system, an applied educational online platform for the development of IT competencies, a smart interactive mirror as a gamified speech therapy product for primary school children, and many others.
The winners of the competition also proposed new solutions for organizing interactive language video clubs using neurotechnologies in the educational process, teaching mathematics, classes with a tutor, and even an optimal model of the educational environment with its production, transfer, acquisition and application of knowledge.
“We actively work with the innovation sector and have studied hundreds of different startups during this time. In this case, it was especially crucial for us that the projects presented at the competition not only have strong business ideas and advanced developments, but also a high social impact. The future depends on new technologies in education”, - said Marianna Skragan, CEO of Business Priority.
