Financial University Team—the best in eSports

In the pilot CS: GO tournament of the series of Roscongress Cyber Cup corporate torunaments, which took place on August 1 and 2, the team of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation won.

On August 1 and 2, 2020, the first CS: GO Roscongress Cyber Cup eSports tournament was held as part of the Science Fest, which is taking place this year in the online format of the "Knowledge Marathon". The organizers were Cyber Legacy eSports organization, Roscongress Foundation, "Territory of Innovation" and Business Priority, as well as the sports platform of the Roscongress Foundation - RK-Sport. The main prize - Roscongress Cyber Cup and awards from fashion-tech NRK87., Project V vitamins and supplements and healthy COFFEECELL coffee - went to the team of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

The Cup was attended by corporate teams from Freedom Group, VTB Bank (PJSC), Lamoda, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Rosmolodezh, Congress-Security, Skyeng. The tournament games were broadcasted on a specialized platform for watching cyber games - Twitch - and on the Innovators 2020 YouTube channel.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is one of the most popular eSports disciplines of our time. The number of registered players worldwide exceeds 8 million. Roscongress Cyber Cup became the first corporate tournament in Russia, giving the opportunity to amateur players from a wide variety of business areas to express themselves. Among the participants: representatives of companies from the fields of innovative educational technologies and e-commerce, security and banking, and many others.

The philosophy of such tournaments is the integration of eSports and business, the opportunity to develop your professional skills and win the competition with colleagues and partners. When we won the first rounds and realized that we were stronger, they overwhelmed. And the rest of the rounds we played calmly. All members of corporate teams, I believe, could not afford to spend a lot of time preparing for the tournament, but we, the students, were more fortunate in this regard. They simply did not have enough time to hone their shooting skills and understand the layout of the map itself - how to move on it, where to wait out for the opponents, etc."
