Cyber Legacy went offline to help children with cancer

Ahead of the first Fortnite charity tournament in Russia, professional Cyber Legacy players Dmitry "Khurma" Geints, Alexander "Fury Legendary" Svistunov and Daniil "Putrick" Abdrakhmanov visited the little patients of the Proton Therapy Center MIBS. On September 15, they got to know in person those who they will soon help with their skillful playing.

While the cybersportsmen were shown around the premises of the Center and its modern medical equipment, the kids were entertained by animators, aqua make-up artists and cosplayers. Together with the masterful artists from the Black Trunk studio, the children created an artifact from Fortnite game — Lollipopper pickaxe, which is given out to players after they reach level 46.

Positive emotions should also be part of their treatment. And we are very grateful to our wonderful partners and friends, who in this way help the little ones recover faster. We are always open to any initiative - look how many people have gathered here today to fill the day of patients of this clinic with bright colors! " - said the director of the Charity Foundation named after Sergei Berezin Daria Sergeeva.

The occasion for visiting the modern oncology clinic in St. Petersburg was the upcoming Fortnite charity cyber tournament, which will be held in October. Its organizers are Cyber Legacy and the Sergei Berezin Charity Foundation for Cancer Patients.

For 2 days of the tournament, during 4 hours, players will compete against each other on the plains of Fortnite. During this time, the resources of Cyber Legacy and the Charity Foundation named after Sergei Berezin will launch a charity broadcast - viewers will be able not only to watch the playing of cybersportsmen, but also to help those children who are temporarily unable to join the game due to illness.

One of the strategic directions of CL is social support. We are implementing various formats of interaction with charitable institutions and in the upcoming championship we will provide an opportunity for everyone to donate funds for the treatment of children”, - said Vladislav Grechkin, Cyber Legacy Project manager.

The funds raised within the scope of the tournament will be used to purchase VP shunts for emergency surgery to be performed in case needed when the child is undergoing proton radiation therapy. Such interventions may be necessary to save lives due to complications caused by underlying diseases (cerebral edema, hydrocephalus).
